25 YEARS AGO: It was reported that the Modesto Airport had a good financial year in 1992, despite a dragging economy and the loss of one of the airport's two commercial carriers. The number of passengers flying in and out rose slightly to 31,611 in 1992 as compared to 31,230 in 1991. The increase was the fifth straight year of growth since 1988 when the airport saw 20,075 passengers for the year.
