25 YEARS AGO: It was reported that Nestle USA had plans to build major West Coast distribution center in the Crossroads business park in Lathrop. Construction for the 750,000-square-foot distribution center was estimated at $25 million. The 525-acre Crossroads business park was on the east side of Interstate 5 and south of Louise Ave. in Lathrop; and its was expected that the project would have been completed in early 1994. When completed, the center would have handled an estimated 1,000 food and beverage items for the various divisions of Nestle USA, including Nestle Beverage Co., Nestle Food Co., Nestle Brands Foodservice Co. and Nestle Refrigerated Food Co.
