Info: The McHenry Mansion Foundation is seeking community members who would like to become volunteer docents for the McHenry Mansion. There will be eight weeks of training beginning Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meetings will be held in the mansion’s basement. What: Volunteers for homeless count
When: Wednesday and Thursday
Where: Various locations
Info: The United Way of Stanislaus County and the Stanislaus Community System of Care have partnered to take an official homeless count with the county. There will be two counts, Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2 to 8 p.m., for the homeless who are in shelters, and Thursday, Jan. 25, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., for the homeless living outdoors. At the point of contact, volunteers will also hand out comfort care packages to those in need. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. For more information, visit uwaystan.org/NOother.
ESCALON
What: Spaghetti dinner fundraiser
When: Saturday, Jan. 27, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Where: Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave.
Info: All-you-can-eat spaghetti with meat sauce, salad with Italian dressing, garlic French bread, ice cream cup dessert and punch or coffee to drink. Take-out dinners are available. What: Veterans Advisory Commission
When: Monday, 5:30 p.m.
Where: Knight’s Ferry Community Club, 17601 Main St.
Info: The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission meets the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. This month’s meeting will be at the Knight’s Ferry Community Club. The commission is looking for participation from interested veterans and family members who can attend the meetings. The commission advises the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors and staff on matters pertaining to all veterans. Members of the public are welcome to attend and are encouraged to volunteer. What: Skirts ’N Flirts Square Dance Club

Info: The Skirts ’N Flirts Square Dance Club will sponsor a new dancer class. Classes are open to singles, couples and children 10 or older (accompanied by an adult).
