25 YEARS AGO: It was reported that the cities of Lathrop and Manteca were struggling for control of 600-acres of land at the west end of Yosemite Ave. The ongoing border conflict had appeared to be resolved when the Local Agency Formation Commission for San Joaquin County ruled that the City of Lathrop had the right to the land. Manteca City Manager David Jinkens asked the commission to reconsider, and planned, along with Lathrop officials, to presents its case to overturn the ruling. The 600-acres layed at the confluence of three highways in the area -- Interstates 5 and 205 and Highway 120.
