Rain exits Modesto area for now, but is expected to return by Monday
The rain is gone, but don't get used to it.
After what's expected to be a mild three days ahead, more rain is in the forecast for Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Modesto received 0.35 inches of rain on Thursday, touching off several vehicle accidents, especially in the early afternoon, according to Lt. Tom Ciccarelli of the Modesto Police Department.
A sunny sky with a high of 63 degrees is expected on Friday with similar conditions on Saturday. Clouds are expected to arrive by Sunday with rain to follow on Monday.
Meanwhile, several Lake Tahoe ski resorts including Heavenly and Squaw Valley are scheduled to open for the season Friday.
Dodge Ridge is closed with no estimated day for opening. However, Bear Valley is expected to open next Friday, Nov. 24.
