Fryer catches fire at Burger King in southeast Modesto, Fire Department reports
A fire erupted Thursday evening in a fryer at the Burger King restaurant on Yosemite Boulevard, the Modesto Fire Department reported.
Firefighters responding to the 6:10 p.m. call kept the flames from getting beyond the fryer and a kitchen wall, Battalion Chief Randy Anderson said. Employees and patrons were safely evacuated from the business, which is at Yosemite and McClure Road.
The restaurant will likely be closed for at least a day because it needs to be inspected by the Stanislaus County Environmental Health Department, Anderson said.
