What: Us Too prostate cancer support group

Info: Us Too’s Modesto chapter invites all who are interested to join in the celebration of its 20th anniversary this month. The program will be the story of the support group’s formation, and remembrance of those who created, sustained and carried forward its mission. Following a formal program, there will be breakout groups for men and women where they can share concerns, experiences and perspectives intended to move us all further along on our survivorship journey. Us Too is comprised of men and their loved ones, and meets monthly to gain and share knowledge and support, and to enjoy each other’s company. Info: The Alzheimer’s Association Communication will be having an “Effective Communication Strategies” workshop, which teaches caregivers to decode verbal and behavioral communication by someone with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Info: The Stanislaus Health Foundation Board of Directors presents its Second Annual Masquerade Charity Gala Fundraiser. All proceeds will be used to provide healthcare scholarships for Stanislaus County students. What: Veterans Advisory Commission

Where: Hughson Senior Center, 2307 Fourth St.
Info: The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission meets the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. This month’s meeting will be at the Hughson Senior Center. The commission is looking for participation from interested veterans and family members who can attend the commission meetings. The purpose of the Commission is to represent all Veterans in Stanislaus County by advising the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors and staff on matters pertaining to all veterans. PATTERSON
What: Grand opening of the West County Service Center
When: Monday, 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: West County Service Center, 101 W. Las Palmas Ave.
Info: Westside residents of Stanislaus County will get a look at the new West County Service Center in Patterson during an open house. The building will be home to several county and nonprofit agencies, all providing services under one roof. The idea is to make it easier for residents to access services through a unique county and community partnership. The building houses the Community Services Agency, the Health Services Agency, the Department of Workforce Development, Center for Human Services, and Learning Quest. During the open house, partner agencies will be on site to answer questions and provide tours of the new facility. Light refreshments will be provided. What: Sunshine Club meeting
