70s and chance of rain later this week for Modesto

After a warm start to the week, Modesto should see highs in the 70s and a chance of rain by Thursday.

Monday’s high will be near 85, the National Weather Service predicts, and the days will be steadily cooler through Friday.

Expected highs are near 84 Tuesday, 82 Wednesday, 75 Thursday and 68 Friday. Nighttime lows will be in the mid- to upper 50s.

The days will be mostly sunny, until Thursday afternoon, when there’s a 20 percent chance of rain. The chance of rain will continue through Friday, the weather service says.

The weekend again will be mostly clear, with anticipated highs near 72 Saturday and 77 Sunday.
