CHP at scene of fatal wreck on Highway 49 just south of downtown Sutter Creek

The California Highway Patrol on Monday morning was investigating a fatal accident in Amador County.

At 6:31 a.m., officers were called the the area of Highway 49 and Ridge Road just south of Sutter Creek on a report of a head-on collision.

Crews are still at the scene. That stretch of Highway 49 will be closed for a couple of hours, according to the CHP.
