Horse trapped when trailer overturns on Highway 120

A horse trailer with two horses inside overturned on Highway 120 in Manteca Saturday afternoon.

One of the horses was able to get out of the trailer on its own but the other had to be extricated with the help of the Lathrop Manteca Fire District, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Both horses were examined by a mobile veterinarian at the scene and appeared to be OK. They were loaded into a different trailer and taken to an area equine hospital for further evaluation.
