You might want to consider getting your dad something cold for Father’s Day.
Sunday will likely be hottest day of 2017 so far. Monday may be even hotter.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued an “excessive heat watch” for the area for Friday through Sunday night, and triple-digit temperatures are expected to continue through Tuesday.
The cause of the hot weather is a strong high-pressure ridge, according to the National Weather Service.
