Fire burns five acres near Modesto’s Scenic Drive and El Vista Avenue

Firefighters with the Modesto Fire Department, along with Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District, battled a vegetation fire in the area of Scenic Drive and El Vista Avenue on Friday afternoon.

The fire, which was initially reported at about 4 p.m., burned about five acres and damaged and outbuilding, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

Crews on two engines, three brush rigs, one grass rig and two chief officers responded to the scene.
