Charles Marchand, 82, of Groveland was the driver killed Monday in a collision on Old Priest Grade, the California Highway Patrol announced Tuesday.

The CHP said Marchand was driving a Ford Ranger pickup west on the steep, winding road off Highway 120 at about 5:30 p.m., when it crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a Hyundai Sonata.
The driver of the Hyundai — Jacob Lanigan, 22, of Perth, Australia — was treated for minor injuries at Sonora Regional Medical Center. His passenger, 26-year-old Katie Anne Salter of Perth, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
