Modesto man dies in south Bay Area crash

A Modesto man was killed in a crash in Santa Clara County earlier this week, according to The Mercury News.

Santiago “Ivan” Vazquez, 26, was driving his Mazda with a friend on Skyline Boulevard north of Highway 9 Monday at about 6 p.m. when, according to family, he lost control, spun out and hit a tree.

First responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation but Vazquez succumbed to his injuries. His passenger suffered moderate injuries, according to The Mercury News. Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
