The high temperature in Modesto on Tuesday as recorded by the Modesto Irrigation District was 98 degrees, tying the record high set in 1982. MID has temperature data available dating back to 1939.
Wednesday’s high in Modesto is expected to be near 89 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. That’s a few degrees cooler than what the service had predicted earlier this week. The record high for the date is 100, again set in 1982, according to MID. The average high temperature for the date is 82, the irrigation district reports.
A north-northwest wind of 8 to 10 mph should help those out in the heat today, and it will continue into the night, reaching up to 11 mph.
Wednesday will be nearly 92 degrees, with the temperature dropping to the high 50s at night.
Thursday’s predicted high is near 84, again with a north-northwest wind up to 10 mph. The high Friday should be near 80, the weather service says.
From then on, temperatures will begin rising again. Daily highs are expected to be near 84 Saturday, 88 Sunday, 93 Monday, which is Memorial Day, and 93 Tuesday.
