25 YEARS AGO: The city of Escalon put in writing their preferred option —of three proposed —that the Department of Transportation could choose for a bypass on Highway 120. The modification to Highway 120 included interchanges, along with the bybass but it was said it would not get built for another 40 or 50 years. The future bypass would extend from Manteca to the Tuolumne County line with an estimated cost exceeding $100 million.
