Elected and law enforcement officials will be on hand to speak and answer questions. There also will be an update on efforts to build The Awesome Spot, an all-inclusive playground, at Beyer Park. Info: The Latino Emergency Council will be meeting in the conference room of El Concilio. The meeting will feature special guest speaker Sheri Blankenheim, Senior Services Coordinator CAL-OES, Earthquake and Tsunami Program. Info: The City of Turlock is seeking community input in updating its Economic Development Strategic Plan. 40 YEARS AGO: Stanislaus State’s baseball team would have the opportunity for its third national championship as it would defend its National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III crown. The Warriors advanced to the Western Regional in Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Stanislaus was the only team in the western half of the United States invited to compete in the 16-team small college event.
