Superheroes, villains, anime faves and all other sorts of costume-play characters went into action Saturday in Newman at the NorCal Cosies. This marked the second year for the cosplay convention and red carpet awards show, held at the West Side Theatre. Festivities opened with a mini pop-culture convention and, later in the evening, the Cosies Awards honoring the region’s cosplayers and artists. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
