When it comes to ‘sin,” Modesto lands in the middle, rankings show
When it comes to sinful cities, Modesto falls right in the middle among its U.S. counterparts.
According to WalletHub, Modesto ranked 81st, fourth behind Sacramento (38th), Bakersfield (59th) and Stockton (78th) among cities in the San Joaquin Valley. Las Vegas ranked No. 1 as the most sinful, while San Jose ranked the least sinful at No. 150. Fresno was 92nd.
WalletHub looked at such characteristics as “Anger & Hatred”, “Jealousy”, “Excesses & Vices” and more, then compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities on 27 “key indicators of evil deeds.” For instance, under the “Anger & Hatred” characteristic, they looked at statistics for a city’s violent crime, among others. For “Excesses and Vices,” the study looked at stats such as “drug overdose deaths,” among others.
The data came from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, TransUnion and County Health Rankings, and several other agencies.
