Info: The city of Modesto will be celebrating its third annual Modesto Rockin’ Holiday Thursdays through Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in December. Tenth Street Place Plaza will be given a retro-holiday feel. Rockin’ Holiday is free, and photos with Rockin’ Santa and his Rockin’ Elves are free in the Classic Rockin’ Sleigh at the Rockin’ North Pole in Tenth Street Plaza. There will also be a 50-foot Rockin’ Holiday Tree that will feature light shows daily from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. to dazzle downtown Modesto visitors, synched to Rockin’ Holiday music. 100 YEARS AGO: The Star Theater announced its one-day-only features. The first feature was “The Reward of Patience,” from Paramount Pictures and starring Louise Huff and Lottie Pickford. Second was “Gloria’s Romance,” starring Billie Burke. The theater also announced its one-day only feature for the next day: “Rags,” starring Mary Pickford. Prices were 15 cents for adults and 5 cents for children.
