Motorcyclist critically injured in north Modesto crash

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a sport utility vehicle turned in front him on Coffee Road Wednesday morning.

The motorcyclist was traveling northbound when a black SUV traveling south turned in front of him at Rumble Road, according to Modesto Police spokeswoman Heather Graves. The accident was reported at 7:58 a.m.

The motorcyclist hit the SUV and suffered major injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, where is listed in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
