What: Rabobank-U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots

Info: Rabobank is teaming with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Modesto Rabobank branches at 1407 I St. and 3801 Pelandale Ave., Suite E7, will participate. Customers and community members can donate new, unwrapped toys at drop boxes in the banks. All donated toys will be distributed locally by Toys for Tots staff and volunteers. What: Poinsettia and European Tree Fundraiser

Where: Parent Resource Center, 811 Fifth St.
Info: The Parent Resource Center will be holding its annual poinsettia and European tree (small potted Christmas trees) fundraiser. “Euro-trees” come with light seasonal decorations with pots wrapped in festive foil. The poinsettias come in traditional Christmas red and “Jingle Bell” (red and white leaves) wrapped in foil. Prices range from $13 to $30 per plant. Last day to order, with orders available for pickup on Dec. 2. Free local delivery is available for orders of six or more plants. 25 YEARS AGO: It was announced that three students in the Calaveras and Merced County regions of the Future Farmers of America would be recieving the organization’s highest honors at its 64th National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Mo. The three students were chosen from 1,105 from across the United States. The students were; Tina Rego of Gustine, Bryan Benefield of Livingston and Tom Conrad of Angels Camp. They received the American FFA degree certificaton and gold keys. The award was based on agribusiness or production projects plus leadership in FFA, school and community activities.
