75 YEARS AGO: Modesto held its annual parade in tribute to Armistice Day. The parade hosted floats from difference service clubs and municipal organizations in Modesto. The first place prize of $25 went to the Patriotic League of America. Their float consisted of a Statue of Liberty on the front of the truck, a giant white star on the back and a large U.S. flag in the bed of the truck. Second place went to Modesto Irrigation District, $10 and third place to the Exchange Club, $10.
