Ripon church celebrates Egyptian Festival
Egyptian culture is on display this weekend in Ripon as St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church welcomes the public to its annual celebration. The Christian church’s Egyptian Festival continues Sunday with music, food, a bazaar, tours of church grounds, a pharaoh photo studio, activities for kids, clothing boutique and more. Also plentiful at the event is a variety of food with its aromatic spices and other traditional ingredients – always a huge draw to the two-day celebration – from falafel and beef shawarma to stuffed grape leaves, kebabs and more. The admission-free festival continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 315 Orange Ave., Ripon.
