Storm wallops West, whispers in Modesto
A weather system delivered wind, rain and even a tornado to the West Coast on Friday, but only clouds and a few scattered sprinkles to the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
Oregon and southwest Washington bore the brunt of the storm, with a tornado reported in Manzanita, Ore. Some areas of Northern California also reported significant rain, but as of Friday afternoon nothing measurable had fallen in the Modesto area.
There is still hope for some rain this weekend, as the National Weather Service calls for a chance of showers Saturday, followed by “rain likely” Sunday.
