Modesto City Schools holding College Expo
Modesto City Schools college counselors will hold a College Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29 at Downey High.
Workshops covering college-going basics will be offered in English and Spanish for parents and students.
Sessions include getting into Modesto Junior College or the two state university systems, essay writing for college applications, financial aid and scholarships, athlete eligibility, SAT-ACT test prep, and the California Dream Act.
Keynote speakers will be Encarnacion Ruiz, director of admissions for UC Merced, and Demitrius Snaer, professor and men’s track coach at MJC.
Military representatives also will have information available for participants.
Check-in starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Downey High School, 1000 Coffee Road, Modesto.
