Modesto hospital executive named to top position over Kaiser Permanente facilities
Jay Krishnaswamy, the former top executive for the health system including Modesto’s Doctors Medical Center, has accepted a position with Kaiser Permanente.
Kaiser announced this week that Krishnaswamy has been named senior vice president and area manager for its Central Valley Service Area. He will oversee Kaiser hospitals and medical facilities in Modesto, Stockton, Manteca, Lathrop and Tracy.
Krishnaswamy formerly was the CEO of Central Valley Doctors Health System, which includes DMC and Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
“I am proud to join this team of exceptional, talented professionals delivering high-quality care for our expanding region,” he said in a news release. “Kaiser Permanente Central Valley is such a special place for our employees, patients, and members, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead us forward.”
Krishnaswamy has worked for 30 years in health care administration. According to the news release, his leadership has focused on strengthening physician relationships, improving hospital operations and fostering a culture of patient-centered care.
“Jay is a highly skilled, thoughtful leader who will build upon the work already being done to ensure our members and patients have exceptional care,” said Kathy Bressler, senior vice president of hospital and health plan operations for Kaiser in Northern California.
Krishnaswamy is following in the footsteps of Aphriekah DuHaney-West, who was named to a regional chief operations officer position with Kaiser in September.
