People in Riverbank will have more access to primary and urgent care with construction of a 10,000-square-foot center. But residents will have to wait more than a year for the new health services.

Sutter Health announced Tuesday that it signed a lease for a care center at 1901 Claribel Road, not far from the new Costco in Riverbank.

According to a news release, the facility will include a primary care clinic with two health providers and an urgent care center for walk-in visits, routine injuries and same-day medical issues.

The urgent care with three clinical providers will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. The health center will have imaging services including mammograms and ultrasound exams.

Sutter expects to open the Riverbank center in fall 2026. The landowner will construct the shell of the building and then Sutter will make the interior improvements, the news release said.

A combination of physicians and advanced practice clinicians will serve patients at the facility.

“This new Riverbank site will bring high-quality, convenient care close to home and help more patients get the right care, right away,” said Amber Campbell, chief executive officer of ambulatory services for Sutter Health in the Central Valley. “This expansion supports Sutter Health’s strategy to make care more connected and convenient throughout Northern California.”

Sutter has been on an expansion campaign, opening health care centers in Modesto, Tracy, Manteca and Lathrop this year. The projects are designed to meet growing community needs and provide easier access to health care, it said.

Sutter is adding 27 urgent care centers in its service areas in Sacramento, the Bay Area, the Northern San Joaquin Valley and other locations.
