Residents 60 and older can receive the updated COVID-19 booster shot at a free clinic Thursday in Modesto.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and bivalent boosters will be administered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Stanislaus Veterans Center, 3500 Coffee Road, Suite 15.

The bivalent booster offers protection against the original coronavirus and the omicron variants that are highly contagious.

Participants should bring their COVID-19 vaccination card to the clinic. Flu shots also are available.

The Stanislaus Area Agency on Aging and Healthy Aging Association organized the clinic for seniors 60 and older, veterans and their caregivers. The association said transportation is available.
