New chief executive at Modesto hospital looks forward to growth and service expansion
Doctors Medical Center has a new executive at the helm.
Jay Krishnaswamy moved from Tenet Healthcare’s home office in Dallas to become chief executive officer of the Modesto hospital earlier this month.
He will oversee hospital operations, planning and medical services.
“Jay has extensive experience in healthcare administration and has been with Tenet Healthcare for 20 years,” said Warren Kirk, group CEO for six Tenet hospitals in Northern California. “With our hospital’s expertise in providing a higher level of care for our patients, Jay will be working closely with our sister hospitals to help us broaden the care we provide as a market.”
Kirk said the hospital is looking forward to growth and expansion of services.
Krishnaswamy was vice president of hospital operations at the Dallas corporate office for two years. He has served as top executive of other hospitals in the Tenet system.
Between 2002 and 2008, Krishnaswamy worked at Doctors of Modesto as chief quality officer and associate administrator, according to a news release.
The new CEO holds a masters degree from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a masters in health services research from Case Western Reserve University.
Doctors Medical Center on Florida Avenue has 394 acute care beds. It also includes the 67-bed inpatient psychiatric facility on Claus Road.
The hospital is affiliated with Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock and Doctors Hospital of Manteca.
