Rain moves into Modesto Friday
The first decent-sized rainstorm of the season is set to move in Friday.
Between Friday and Saturday, the Modesto area could get a half-inch of rain or more, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters predict a 70 percent chance of rain for Modesto on Halloween, followed by an 80 percent chance on Saturday. The storm also brings cooler temperatures.
Friday’s high is expected to be 69 degrees, a good 10-degree drop from Thursday. By Saturday, afternoon temperatures will rise to only about 63 degrees.
The system also should deliver snow to the higher elevations, with the snow level dropping to 5,000 feet Saturday.
The storm is expected to clear out by Sunday, leaving behind mostly sunny conditions, with a high of 66.
