Synopsis: Three men got into an argument inside The Ranch Bar and Grill in the 1000 block of South Ninth Street about 10 minutes after midnight on April 3. One of the men pulled a handgun and fired several rounds, hitting two brothers. Gonzalez, 27, of Modesto was killed in the shooting. Jose Adan Acevedo Gonzalez, 22, of Modesto was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He survived but is paralyzed from the waist down, authorities said. A third victim, a woman who worked at the bar, was hit in the leg by a bullet that went through a wooden chair; she was treated at the hospital and later was released.

Motivation: Unknown

Suspect: Witnesses described the shooter as tall and heavy-set with a dark complexion. Detectives said the shooter goes by the street name of Pantera, or Panther. They identified the man as Diego Armando Infante Pantoja.

Authorities ask anyone with information about this homicide to call Detective Marc Nuno at 525-7081 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
