Flooding from sheared-off hydrant closes part of Standiford Avenue in Modesto
Part of Standiford Avenue is northwest Modesto was closed late Tuesday afternoon because of flooding from a broken fire hydrant.
The hydrant was sheared off in a traffic accident, forcing closure of the key route between Carver and Tully roads. The closure could last a few hours, the Modesto Police Department said.
