Update: Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by car in northwest Modesto
A 69-year-old woman was in critical condition after being hit by a car Tuesday while walking across Standiford Avenue, the Modesto Police Department reported.
The unidentified woman was crossing at Tully Road at about 2 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle, police said. She was taken by ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, police spokeswoman Heather Graves said Tuesday night.
