Police respond to yet another armed robbery in Modesto, the eighth since Sunday
An armed robber struck a northeast Modesto mini-mart Tuesday night, the eighth robbery reported in the city since Sunday.
Officers got a 6:58 p.m. call about a man who brandished a handgun at the Chevron at 2101 Sylvan Ave., said Lt. Aaron Tait of the Modesto Police Department. The man fled the store, and it was not known if he took money, Tait said.
The man was described as possibly Latino and wearing a black hood and sweats.
No arrests have been reported in the spate of robberies, which have included liquor stores, mini-marts, a drug store and an ice cream shop. Not all of the cases involved guns.
