Modesto is hiring for these 6 city jobs. Latest openings pay up to $136,000 a year

The city of Modesto has job openings in departments including the Police Department, utilities and public works.

Both hourly and salaried positions are available, ranging from trainee to advanced levels of work.

Here are some of the most recent jobs posted on the city’s website as of Aug. 17, and how much they pay:

Account technician

• Department: Finance
  
  
• Salary: $25.80 to $34.61 per hour
• Location: 1010 10th St., Modesto

Account technicians perform accounting duties including maintaining the general ledger, utility billing, business licensing and payroll.

The application closes Aug. 24 at 5 p.m.

Assistant/associate planner

• Department: Community and Economic Development
• Salary: $70,054.40 to $96,345.60 per year
• Location: 1010 10th St., Modesto

Assistant/associate planners provide information and assistance to developers and the public on planning-related matters.

The application closes Aug. 27 at 5 p.m.

Forestry manager

• Department: Public Works
  
  
• Salary: $111,987.20 to $136,136 per year
• Location: 501 N. Jefferson St., Modesto

Forestry managers plan, organize and direct activities including tree maintenance, replanting and inventory work.

The application closes Sept. 4 at 5 p.m.

Plant mechanic trainee, and wastewater/ senior plant mechanic

• Salary: $24.55 to $41.14 per hour
• Location: Modesto

Plant mechanic trainees install, maintain and repair plant equipment, engines, pumps and related equipment at sewer and storm lift stations. The department is also hiring for a senior plant mechanic paying $37.36 to $45.41 per hour.

Police cadet

• Department: Modesto Police Department
• Salary: $16.54 to $22.19 per hour
• Location: 600 10th St., Modesto

Police cadets perform duties including parking enforcement, animal control assistance, fingerprint collection assistance and evidence assistance.

Solid waste specialist

• Department: Public Works
• Salary: $25.17 to $30.59 per hour
