Bad Company
Famed 1970s supergroup Bad Company has a bevy of hits from “Feel Like Makin’ Love” to “Can’t Get Enough,” “Shooting Star” and “Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy.” Two of the three surviving founding members of the band, frontman Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, are on a U.S. tour. The band’s Murphys show will be opened by original Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm.

‘The Robber Bridegroom’
Sierra Repertory Theatre brings the lively backwoods musical “The Robber Bridegroom” to the stage. The story is a play on the Robin Hood legend and based on a novella by American writer Eudora Welty. Its titular lead is a Southern gentleman by day and bandit-of-the-woods by night. The high-energy show features a bluegrass and banjo score and cast of nine.

Motown Brewfest
Enjoy cold beer, local eats and live sounds at the Motown Brewfest. The SOS Club event will feature several local brewing companies pouring drinks including Turlock’s Dust Bowl and Oakdale’s Last Call. Strawberry Music Festival
The annual celebration of live music and the Sierra foothills returns. The Labor Day weekend event will be at Westside Park in Tuolumne for the second year in a row for the overnight camping extravaganza. Headliners include bluegrass band the Del McCoury Band, Tex-Mex greats Los Lobos, jamgrass act Leftover Salmon, blues-gospel singer Ruthie Foster and swing revivalists the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

‘Rock of Ages’
Playhouse Merced presents the jukebox musical “Rock of Ages.” The show features some of the biggest hits of the 1980s and chronicles the glam metal scene of the famed Sunset Strip. The score includes music from bands like Bon Jovi, Journey, Styx, Whitesnake and more. The show first opened on Broadway in 2009. The Merced production opens the local company’s 23rd season.

Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival
After the Gold Rush presents the 44th annual Labor Day weekend Arts & Crafts Festival in Arnold. The foothills celebration moves to a new location this year and has changed its name from the Cedar Center Arts & Crafts Festival. The event includes arts and crafts vendors, live music by the likes of area favorite Home Grown and more.
