Foreverland
The Lucca Summer Concert Series continues in Ripon with Michael Jackson tribute act Foreverland. The 14-piece band re-creates the King of Pop’s catalog from his Jackson 5 days through his stratospheric solo success. The evening begins with an optional dinner, music by Spanish-style guitarist Jesse Christian Hendricks and an art show and sale.

Fallen Heroes Car Show
The fourth annual Fallen Heroes Car Show honors law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The Mid Valley Stangs Car Club-hosted tribute will include an honor guard, speakers and K-9 demo. The event will also have barbecue, vendors, music and a raffle. All proceeds benefit the Peace Officers Memorial Group of Stanislaus County.

Jesus Christ Superstar
The stars of the 1973 film adaptation of “Jesus Christ Superstar” will attend a screening of the film at downtown Modesto’s State Theatre. Ted Neeley, who played Jesus of Nazareth, and Barry Dennen, who was Pontius Pilate, will lead a Q&A discussion on the classic rock opera. The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical was directed for the screen by Norman Jewison.

Central Valley Vinofest
The Central Valley Vinofest returns for a second year. Festivities include unlimited sampling, a souvenir tasting glass, admission to a charity art gallery and live music. More than a dozen wineries and merchants will be pouring samples. In addition guests will receive a fresh baguette as well as tastings of local cheeses. Food trucks will also be on hand.

Carnegie Pop-Up Exhibition
Turlock’s Carnegie Arts Center continues its centennial year celebration with its third Pop-Up Exhibition. The show, which will run for 10 days in the downtown gallery’s renovated library space, will feature the work of sculptor and printmaker Dean DeCocker. His “Time and Tides” show features sculptural work made from industrial materials to denote motion.

Just Kidding Comedy Showcase
Downtown Modesto’s Ralston’s Goat continues its new monthly comedy showcase Just Kidding. The event is produced and hosted by Central Valley comic Jen Eros and will feature comedy team Danny Minch and Jenn Felix, who are known as “Mr. and Mrs. Stand Up,” and San Francisco comedian and host of Radio Ha Ha Podcast Danny Dechi.
