Joan Jett & the Blackhearts

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and dropper of dimes in the jukebox Joan Jett & the Blackhearts returns to the Central Valley. With her seminal all-girl band, the Runaways, and her longtime group the Blackhearts, Jett scored hits with “Cherry Bomb,” “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll,” “Bad Reputation” and more. She will be an adviser on the upcoming season of “The Voice.”

Frank Caliendo

Master impressionist Frank Caliendo brings his roster of famous characters to the Gallo Center for the Arts. The comic is known for his impressions, from John Madden to Donald Trump, Charles Barkley and George W. Bush. The stand-up also has a long history of work in the sports world, including stints with “Fox NFL Sunday” and ESPN.

ModStock

The sixth annual ModStock proves you are never too young to rock. The festival showcases local music, including dozens of student bands from the Valley Music Institute. The free outdoor family event will feature food, vendors and more than 30 bands, including performances by seasoned acts like Triple D, Callbox, the Lodge Pole Pickers and the Patty Castillo Davis Band.

Rodrigo y Gabriela

Mexican acoustic duo Rodrigo y Gabriela plays a unique fusion of metal, jazz and world music. Band members Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero have been playing together for more than 15 years. Their music is eclectic and largely instrumental. The work has been featured in film franchises from “Pirates of the Caribbean” to “Shrek.”

Little Joe y La Familia

Tex-Mex icons Little Joe y La Familia return to the Gallo Center for the Arts. Led by Jose “Little Joe” Hernandez, the band has had a 50-year career that has spanned 50 albums and five Grammy Awards. Hernandez has been described as “The King of the Brown Sound.” He has played the downtown performance venue multiple times, last time in 2014.

Red Dirt & Gold Dust Festival

The first Red Dirt & Gold Dust Festival brings in Americana and alt-country bands for a day of music. Headlining will be Cody Canada and The Departed, John D. Hale Band, Matt Stell, Cole Porter Band, Kaitlin Butts, Grover Anderson and Walt Hoyt. A portion of proceeds will go to Calaveras Recovers, supporting victims of the Butte Fire.
