Hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg is coming back to Modesto after playing a sold-out show at the Fat Cat in February. His return appearance will include rapping, DJing and hosting an evening at the Palladium. Tickets available at various valley locations including American Auto Depot, Lupita’s Auto Sales, Valley Gardening Supplies and Rancho Fresco Mexican Grill.

The region’s longest continuously running Graffiti Summer celebration returns this weekend. Back to Graffiti at The Fruit Yard will feature a classic car show, as well as live music, raffles, vendor booths, a barbecue and more. The car show on the green grounds surrounding the restaurant will be free to spectators.

Juneteenth

Junteenth, which has evolved into a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery, will be celebrated with a free family festival at the King-Kennedy Memorial Center this weekend. A talent show Friday will lead to the annual all-day festivities Saturday including food, live music, cultural performances, children’s activities and a black business expo.

State Fair

Sierra Repertory Theatre presents the Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein show “State Fair.” Based on the 1946 movie by the same name, the story was later adapted for the stage as a musical about a family who goes for its annual trip to the Iowa State Fair. The show features the songs “It’s a Grand Night for Singing” and “It Might as Well Be Spring” among others.

‘Grease’ Singalong

Find your bobby socks and dust off that leather jacket. Downtown Modesto’s State Theatre invites you to bop on down to a special singalong presentation of the classic John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John musical “Grease” as part of Graffiti Summer. The 1978 film about the exploits of teens from Rydell High became the highest-grossing movie musical of all time.

Graffiti Summer welcomes a new event to the block – a free all-day block party.
