American Graffiti Car Show and Festival
The North Modesto Kiwanis hosts the 23rd annual American Graffiti Car Show and Festival this weekend. Festivities kick off with the Graffiti Classic Car Parade through downtown Modesto on Friday, June 10. This year, some 1,300 cars are expected to participate. The grand marshal of the parade will be classic-car collector Don Monaco, founder of Don’s Mobile Glass.

B93 Big Summer Show
B93 brings in its Big Summer Show featuring nationally touring and up-and-coming acts MAGIC!, Nick Fradiani, Shawn Hook, High Dive Heart and Genevieve. Canadian reggae fusion band MAGIC! topped the Billboard Hot 100 with its 2014 hit “Rude.” Connecticut-based pop singer Fradiani was voted the winner of “American Idol” Season 14 last year.

Merced County Fair
The Merced County Fair continues its 125th anniversary celebration. The fair features traditional livestock exhibits, carnival rides, food booths and grandstand events. Headlining will be Bay Area R&B group Tower of Power on Friday, country act Lonestar on Saturday and Mexican band Banda Machos on the closing night.

MoPRIDE Fundraiser
MoPRIDE, the group that puts on the annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender festivities known as Pride in the Park, will hold its second annual Divas of Drag fundraiser this weekend. This year the event will be themed “Vegas Show Girls: Fierce, Funny & Fabulous” and hosted by local drag personalities Mizz Monique Mychaels and Katalina Zambrano.

Lucca Summer Concert Series
The Lucca Summer Concert Series kicks off in Ripon this weekend. The new outdoor monthly music series presented by longtime area promoter John Griswold & Friends starts things off with funk, jazz and R&B outfit the East Bay Soul. Shows include a complimentary glass of wine in a souvenir glass and admission to an on-site art show.

Kingsmen, Surfaris & Tokens
As part of the ongoing Graffiti Summer events, enjoy an all-star show featuring The Kingsmen, The Surfaris and The Tokens. The Kingsmen features original members Dick Peterson and Mike Mitchell and is known for its 1963 hit “Louie, Louie” The Surfaris has hits with “Wipe Out” and “Surfer Joe,” and The Tokens sang the classic “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
