Carnegie presents ‘Ready, Set, Show!’

The Carnegie Arts Center presents its second annual Youth Art Exhibition: “Ready, Set, Show!”

The exhibit, which opened earlier this week, will run through July 24 at the downtown Turlock gallery. The work of area students from kindergarten to eighth grade will be on display in the center’s Ferrari Gallery. During the exhibit, hands-on stations will be available in the gallery for young visitors to make their own art as well.

The opening reception will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, as part of the center’s free Family Friday series. The gallery’s normal hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays. Admission to the exhibition is free. Night at the Bowl

The sixth annual Night at the Bowl benefit returns Tuesday, June 14, to the Mancini Bowl in Graceada Park.

The event is a fundraiser for the Modesto Band of Stanislaus County and the city of Modesto’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department. The festivities will include samplings of food from area restaurants, as well as wine and beer.

MoBand, which just started its six-week summer Concert in the Park series, will perform. The benefit will run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door. For more information, visit www.moband.org.

Luv 2 Dance performance

The mother-daughter team behind the Luv 2 Dance studio presents a new show called “Welcome to My House” on Sunday, June 12. Studio heads Meg Harter and Michelle Rau will lead the annual dance showcase. The event will feature students ages 3 to into their 70s for a night of tap, hip-hop and break-dancing routines.

Show starts at 2 p.m. at the State Theatre. Tickets are $12. Call 209-551-3000.

5678 Studio show

Modesto’s 5678 Dance Studio presents its 22nd annual dance recital Thursday-Saturday, June 16-18, at Gallo Center for the Arts. Dancers ages 1 to 70 will perform in the show, titled “On Broadway,” which will feature performances based on music from the Great White Way. The show will feature ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip-hop dance styles.

Shows are at 6:30 p.m. June 16-18, with an additional 2 p.m. show June 18. Tickets are $16-$25. For more information call 209-526-6664.
