Graffiti Classic

Modesto Area Street Rod Association hosts its 11th annual Graffiti Classic car show at McHenry Village. The event is part of the monthlong Graffiti Summer celebration, which starts this weekend. The car show will also feature live music by the Hot Rods Band, raffles and more. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local charities.

Modesto Symphony Orchestra

Be the Modesto Symphony Orchestra’s guest at its season finale featuring Disney favorites. The show will feature music and medleys from “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Mulan,” “The Lion King,” “Frozen” and beyond. Costumed Disney-themed characters will be in the lobby to greet guests of all ages.

Highland Games

Step back in time at the 35th annual Modesto Scottish Highland Games & Celtic Festival. Presented by Modesto St. Andrew’s Society, the family festival celebrates all things Celtic and includes athletic events, rugby, bagpipers, Celtic music, children’s games, dancing, heritage and history information, Avenue of the Clans, vendors, food and beverage booths.

Pick and Gather Festival

The annual ode to organic farming and outdoor fun known as the Pick and Gather Festival and Merced River Fair returns. River fair on Saturday only with kayak excursions, crafts geocaching and more. Pick and Gather both days with activities, live music on three stages, dance and storytelling, food, demos, storytelling, artisans, dancers, a farmers and craft market.

Buyer & Cellar

San Francisco’s The New Conservatory Theatre Center returns for its annual LGBT-themed production. This year the presentation will be the one-man show “Buyer & Cellar,” about an out-of-work actor who starts working for legendary singer Barbra Streisand in the basement shops set up in her Malibu home. The comedy stars J. Conrad Frank.

Patterson Apricot Fiesta

The city of Patterson goes all in for apricots again. The 46th annual Apricot Fiesta returns with a full weekend’s worth of fun. Festivities include an antique farm equipment show, downtown vendors, food booths, kids games and teen zone, historical displays and live entertainment. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday through downtown Patterson.
