Family Cycling Festival and Criterium
Cyclists, start your pedals. The annual Family Cycling Festival and Criterium is back in downtown Modesto. The cycling celebration features a free children’s bike helmet giveaway, kids activities, vendor booths, BMX bike demos, races and more. The Criterium begins at 8 a.m. and offers a variety of race categories from beginner and child to professional.

‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’
Sierra Repertory Theatre brings the Tony-winning play “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” to the stage. The comedy by American playwright Christopher Durang follows three siblings, named after characters from the works of Anton Chekhov, who reunite at the family’s estate. The contemporary production touches on sibling rivalry, midlife crisis and modern life.

Diggins Tent Town 1852
Columbia State Historic Park’s annual living history event brings more that 150 costumed volunteers out to re-create the region’s past. During Diggins Tent Town 1852, park visitors experience the events and environment of an 1850s mining camp re-created in detail from the clothing, food and tasks to entertainment. Lemonade Day
Modesto celebrates Lemonade Day, the national event meant to encourage youth entrepreneurship. For the first time the citywide educational program will centralize the projects on blocks downtown. Youths between grades 2 and 8 can set up their own lemonade stand and participate for free. The community is invited to browse the stands and purchase lemonade.
