Veterans Day parade

Honor all those who have served by attending the city’s annual Veterans Day parade. The event will begin at 10th and O streets in downtown Modesto and include marching bands from area high schools and a float featuring local World War II veterans. A ceremony with music and dignitaries will follow the parade in Graceada Park.

Modesto Symphony Orchestra

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra welcomes trumpeter Brandon Ridenour to perform his composition, Fantasy Variations on a theme by Niccolò Paganini. The program will include performances of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and Richard Wagner’s Prelude to “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.”

Turlock Concert Association

The Turlock Concert Association presents a special free show with the Travis Brass of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West. The first-come, first-seated event will feature a range of music including patriotic songs to thank veterans and the public for their support of the U.S. Air Force and the entire U.S. military.

Stunt Dog Experience

The pooch power of the Stunt Dog Experience returns to the Gallo Center for the Arts. The show, created by Stockton native and French Camp resident Chris Perondi, features his highly trained rescue dogs performing a series of tricks and stunts. The tour sold out four shows at the venue last year.

N.Y. Film Critics Series

See an advance screening of the new film “Shelter” starring Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Connelly as a homeless woman who falls in love with a Nigerian immigrant (played by Anthony Mackie). The film was written and directed by Connelly’s husband, Paul Bettany. All three will take part in an onscreen Q&A afterward.

Murphys Dia de los Muertos

The town of Murphys celebrates its sixth annual Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Tasting rooms and businesses along Main Street will participate. Enjoy cultural artwork, food, entertainment, face painting and more. Event includes a Catrina and Catrin dress contest followed by a candlelight procession.
