Music industry legend Herb Alpert blows into town with his wife and singer, Lani Hall. The trumpet behind Tijuana Brass and co-founder of A&M Records has won nine Grammy Awards and sold more than 70million albums over the course of his career. Earlier this year, he won his latest Grammy, for best pop instrumental album for his release “Steppin’ Out.”

Modesto Symphony Orchestra
The Modesto Symphony Orchestra will perform side-by-side with the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra for part of its upcoming show. The concert will feature works by Jean Sibelius, Ludwig van Beethoven and Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Canadian-born and Boston-based pianist Katherine Chi will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D major ,with David Lockington directing.

Center Stage Conservatory
Modesto’s Center Stage Conservatory continues the run of its new play, “Scotland Road,” about a mysterious woman who may or may not be a survivor of the Titanic. The story follows a woman found floating on an iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic in early 20th century clothing who claims to be a survivor of the doomed ocean ship. The production is directed by Laura Dickinson-Turner.

‘Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus Live!’
A one-man play based on the bestselling book “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus Live!” comes to the State Theatre. The relationship self-help tome was turned into a theatrical comedy by Eric Coble and will be performed by actor Peter Story, who has appeared on “Days of Our Lives” and “CSI.” The sendup of the book is part theater, part stand-up.

Motown Brewfest
Get your hops on at the Motown Brewfest. The sudsy event will feature more than 16 breweries, local food and live music.
