Actor Kevin Bacon is one part of The Bacon Brothers duo, planning its first concert at Modesto’s Gallo Center for the Arts. A pair of patriotic music events also are part of the planned entertainment options in the region from June 27 to July 3.
The Bacon Brothers
Expect a mix of folk, rock, soul and country music as The Bacon Brothers bring their “People in the World Tour” to the Gallo Center. The duo — Bacon and his brother Bacon — call their sound “forosoco,” according to the center’s website. The show marks the brothers’ debut at the Gallo Center.

CelloVoci with Effie Passero
CelloVoci is a newly formed classical-crossover group featuring cello and vocal duo Branden & James, along with singer/songwriter and Modesto native Effie Passero. Patriotic concert
The Gottschalk Concert Band will present its “Made in America” show at the Gallo Center to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday. The band will present an afternoon of patriotic favorites, along with jazz and music from cinema and the theater.

MoBand
The Modesto Band of Stanislaus County also celebrates America’s 250th birthday with patriotic music at its next weekly concert at Graceada Park. MoBand will play selections including “The Washington Post March,” “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “American Salute” and “The Greatest Generation.” The group encourages audience members to in dress in patriotic clothing.

“My Fair Lady”
The Modesto Film Society presents “My Fair Lady” as its next selection at the State Theatre. The 1964 musical follows the story of phonetics professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) who tries to transform a working-class girl into someone who can pass as a member of high society. His subject, Eliza Doolittle, is played by Audrey Hepburn.
