Soulful singer Paul Thorn is set to play a fundraising concert at the State Theatre. MoBand’s summer season continues, as does June’s Graffiti Summer celebration. Here’s a look at some of the entertainment planned in the Modesto and Mother Lode regions June 20-26.
Paul Thorn
Paul Thorn is coming to the State Theatre for a fundraising concert. Thorn’s music blends blues, rock and Southern roots. “Known for his plainspoken wisdom and heartfelt storytelling, his music delivers truth with a wink and a groove,” the theater’s website says. All proceeds benefit Modesto’s Hope Haven West, which provides mobility to the disabled poor.

MoBand
“Bright Lights, Modesto Nights” is the next theme for the Modesto Band of Stanislaus County’s weekly concert series. MoBand will play the music of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bruno Mars and Cher. The group encourages audience members to dress in casino-night or nightlife attire.

Car show
The Back to Graffiti Car Show returns to the Fruit Yard in Modesto. The Graffiti Summer event features vehicles from the F-100 Elite Club. Also planned are raffles, vendors, music, awards and more.

“Cars” screening
The State Theatre continues this year’s Graffiti Summer events with a movie. There will be a craft time for children to enjoy before the animated movie “Cars” plays on the theater’s big screen.

Father’s Day Fly-in
This year’s Columbia Airport Father’s Day Fly-In will “Celebrate 250 Years of Freedom.” There will be airplane rides, warbird demonstrations, and classic cars and airplanes on display. A pancake breakfast is planned from 7:30-11 a.m. There also will be live music by Overdrive, as well as with food and vendors.

Mother Lode car show
Cars, trucks and motorcycles will be showcased at the Hot Copper Car Show in the Mother Lode town of Copperopolis. There will be food and drink, live music, vendors and more at the annual celebration.

Lumber celebration
The annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee celebrates the logging industry in the Mother Lode. Planned are vendors, a carnival, parade, music, logging contests and more. The event ends with a tug-of-war at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
