Crawl thee into the dungeon in Modesto this weekend.

Well, sort of.

A Central Valley Dungeon Crawl will be held Saturday, May 2, at The Queen Bean Coffee & Social House downtown.

What exactly will you find there? Games, costumes, music and more, according to an Instagram post about the event.

“Think miniature renaissance faire centered on a live fantasy music experience with the addition of vendors and an area for gaming, so bring your commander decks,” the post by the nonprofit Modesto Artists Movement says.

The event will feature costume and prop contests, vendors and gaming tables. There will be guided tutorials for those new to the games.

There also will be live dungeon synth music by Shadowwrought.

Never heard of dungeon synth?

According to the Instagram post, it’s “fantasy music typically performed on synthesizer keyboards heavily inspired by film and video games such The Lord of the Rings, Skyrim, Baldurs Gate etc.”

The dungeon crawl will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Queen Bean, 1126 14th St., Modesto. Admission is $10. Call the coffeehouse at 209-521-8000.
