Mexican pop-singing superstar Gloria Trevi brings another side of herself to the Gallo Center for the Arts. Known as the “Mexican Madonna,” Trevi is touring behind her new album, “El Amor.” For the project, she sang half the songs as a man and half as a woman. She also created the character of “Mr. Trevi,” her idealized man, complete with suit and top hat.

Center Stage Conservatory
Downtown Modesto’s Center Stage Conservatory stages the Sam Shepard play “Fool for Love” opening this weekend. The play follows two lovers, May (Delawna McKinney) and Eddie (Chris Hayhurst), who find each other in a Mojave Desert hotel. This is the second Shepard play the company has presented in the past year; the first was “True West” in September.

Sierra Rep’s ‘Macbeth’
Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth” comes to the stage at Sierra Repertory Theatre. The production will use light, sound and set effects to tell the story of ambition, murder, witchcraft and madness. Sierra Rep producing director Dennis Jones helms the production featuring Los Angeles-based actors Charles Pasternak and Emelie O’Hara as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

Salida Town and Country Festival
The 15th annual festival celebrates the unincorporated north Stanislaus County community. The event hosted by the Salida Civic Association will feature food, crafts, information booths, kids activities, live entertainment. The parade starts at 10 a.m. down Broadway Avenue.

Central Valley Vinofest
Sip and stroll through the offerings at the new Central Valley Vinofest. The 21-and-over wine-tasting event offers unlimited samplings for more than 50 varieties from area wineries. Admission includes a free baguette and cheese tasting. There also will be artwork and food available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Art Expressions of San Joaquin.

Byrne and Kelly
The duo of Neil Byrne and Ryan Kelly return to Modesto fresh off their appearance as part of the Celtic Thunder show earlier this year. The pair has been touring together for three years with a show called “Acoustic by Candlelight.” They have landed No. 1 world music albums on Billboard with “Acoustically Irish” and “Live in Australia.”
